Springbrook is a small farming community with a population of 182 located at the center of Jackson County. Designation as part of the Grant Wood Scenic Byway brings visitors to the community exposing early history limestone construction. Agriculture is the largest industry for the community. Housing, along with industrial and commercial development are part of city plans. The area is very scenic and tourism is a part of the growth that has contributed to economic development. The Kegler-Gonner General Store is a limestone building, on the National Historic Register of Historic Places that is located in Springbrook.

Springbrook is a very small community and proud of it; it is very well kept, neat, and clean. The community has hosted four RAGBRAI rides on the last day to their destinations.

City Parks and Recreation

Springbrook City Park: Located in the center of the community. It has a pavilion, water, restroom, playground equipment, and basketball court.

Community Baseball Park: Located on the west end of the community. It serves area youth teams as well as adult leagues. Food & refreshments are served in the lunch stand.

Springbrook Volunteer Firemen Annual Chicken Barbeque - Held on Labor Day.

St. Peter & Paul Church of Springbrook Chicken Barbeque (3rd Sunday in July)
