Located east of Maquoketa on Hwy. 64, Preston has 1038 residents. Surrounded by rich farmland, the community is very proactive in economic development. A large industrial park has brought new businesses to the community and allows room for future expansion. Preston offers a medical clinic, community newspaper, public golf course, and a new public library and city hall complex. Valley West housing development is part of Preston's comprehensive city plan.
