Bellevue Bellevue is Jackson County's second largest community. Today 2,350 residents are nestled between the Mississippi River and huge limestone bluffs. Tourism and light manufacturing provide a solid base for growth and expansion. Housing is a primary interest for community development planners. Visitors will have much to see and do in "beautiful Bellevue". An open Riverfront Park affords a close-up look of Lock and Dam 12, the Bellevue State Park south of town offers Indian mounds, a butterfly garden and panoramic river view. The Young House Museum is a century old residence built of limestone that overlooks the Mississippi. Wintering eagles, fishing, boating, camping and a public golf course make the city attractive.
