Woodland Indian mounds dotting the bluffs overlooking
the Mississippi River attest to the long and colorful history
of Jackson County. The great glaciers inexplicably bypassed
the region. These rugged unglaciated lands remain in their primeval
splendor and a haunting beauty remains, a treasure, to be preserved
and shared with guests.
